Rohan Marley Says His Dad Would Approve Of Snoop Lion’s Rebirth!

The Artist-Formerly-Known-As-Snoop-Dogg has been catching a lot of heat over his Rastafarian rebirth as Snoop Lion.  After a spiritual journey in Jamaica, which he documented, “tha dogg” became “tha lion,” by adopting Rastafari religion and culture.

Not everyone was happy about Snoop’s rebirth though.  In fact some have downright hated it, and are questioning the rapper’s intentions.  Recently, Bunny Wailer (one of the original Wailers who rocked with Bob Marley) publicly rejected Snoop’s transformation, saying it “outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism,”  and that Snoop never fulfilled the “contractual, moral and verbal commitments” of a Rastafari.

To add to that, some of the leaders of the Rastafari Millennium Council threatened to sue Snoop to stop using the name “Lion,” pay for “financial and moral support,” AND issue a public apology.

Tough crowd!

However, according to Rohan Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley (who is an important religious figure in Rastafari culture), his dad would have supported Snoop 100%!  Marley said:

“Our father’s name should not even be mentioned in this issue because like a true Rasta, he would have embraced Snoop’s reincarnation and welcomed the positivity.  Why condemn a man for his love of Rastafari and Bob Marley?.  We have been cool with Snoop before his transformation and he will continue to have our blessings and support.”

In other words, in the name of Bob Marley, Rohan is telling Snoop’s haters to take several seats!
