He’s done it again!
Since Hurricane Sandy hit the state of New Jersey, knocking out power to over a million people, Cory Booker, the Newark mayor has been tweeting non-stop. His tweets offer updates on power outages, calming his residents, and checking up on those in need.
Just recently he invited neighbors without power to seek refuge at his house!! Booker deserves an award for this! On Thursday, Twitter user @my_serenelove sent a tweet to Booker, complaining about the loss of power at her home. Booker’s response? Come on over!
And she came!
Not only did people come, but he treated them to lunch!!!
He even had some words of encouragement for Twitterer DAT_NIGGA_ REE:
But since Monday, Booker has averaged more than 100 tweets a day, with 416 tweets (retweets included, as of 2 p.m. Thursday) since Sandy descended on the tri-state area. And nearly half of those—240—were responses to constituents’ tweets. Booker also has been driving around town checking on people’s grandmothers.
We need more Cory Bookers in the world….what an awesome guy!!
