That moment when you thought Michelle Obama couldn’t get anymore awesome…and she shows up at the Oscars!
Even though the First Lady didn’t take home an award last night, she certainly had everyone’s attention with her surprise appearance and announcement of the winner of Best Picture.
Via satellite from the Governors’ Ball in Washington, D.C., FLOTUS made this special Oscar introduction:
“These nine movies took us back in time and all around the world. They made us laugh, they made us weep, and they made us grip our armrests just a little tighter. They taught us that love can endure against all odds and transform our lives in the most surprising ways, and they reminded us that we can overcome any obstacle if we can dig deep enough and fight hard enough and find the courage to believe in ourselves.”
The First Lady was then handed an envelope, where she announced Argo as the winner!
Although the public’s reactions were mixed (haters), we tend to agree with the First Lady’s sentiments when she tweeted:
