Best Man Sequel Gets A Release Date!

Our prayers have been answered!!

The long-awaited sequel to The Best Man has been given an official release date by Universal! Friday, November 15, 2013!

There’s still no synopsis — we’re guessing it’ll have something to do with a wedding, divorce, or a funeral — and the only real information about the project is that Malcolm D. Lee will return to write and direct, as well as produce, with Sean Daniel (The Mummy series) co-producing with him.

The film, which originally starred our 90s heroes, Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Terrance Howard, and Morris Chestnut, as a group of old friends that reunite for a wedding, became a classic amongst the Love Jones generation. Many were longing for a sequel; a reunion dinner with several members of the original cast only increased everyone’s desire.

No word if the sequel will reprise the original cast, which also included Sanaa Lathan, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Harold Perrineau, but let’s hope everyone is on board! Now all we ask for from the film Gods is a Boomerang sequel and our lives will be complete!
