A South Carolina nightclub is learning the hard way that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
The Owls Nest Sports Lounge is currently suing DMX, claiming that they were stiffed by the troubled rapper. According to the nightclub, they paid DMX to do a meet and greet at on August 25, 2012…but X never showed.
While that in itself may not be that much of a surprise, the real surprise is the fee they paid him for the event… a whopping $3,000. (Um, that’s a STEAL, considering that even that little kid signed to French Montana’s label charges $7,500 a performance!) Bargain basement prices or no, the Owl Nest is claiming that they didn’t get ANYTHING for their money, and are suing DMX for the $3,000, plus additional event related expenses.
Given DMX’s current litigation problems (a booking agency has already sued him for $750,000 over a botched comeback tour contract), and his ongoing legal problems (he was arrested last month for driving on a suspended license), we suspect that the Owl’s Next lawsuit is low on X’s list of priorities. (In other words, good luck to Owl’s Nest in retrieving that 3 stacks.)
However, if there was a moral to this story, it could possibly be this: Never give a
drug-addict well-known rapper $3,000 and expect to get much from it!
