In a shocking move, Jay-Z’s team, the Brooklyn Nets, have gone and fired their head coach! Despite winning a Coach of the Month award in November, Coach Avery Johnson is now without a job. Johnson publicly responded to the news in a press conference yesterday, confessing that his termination was “really dissapointing…and something that [he] didn’t necessarily see coming.”
After thanking the players, Johnson went on to say:
“This is what we signed up for. This is part of our business, fair or unfair it doesn’t matter. But it’s time for a new voice, and the team will have a new voice. And, hopefully, they’ll get back on track.”
However, Johnson’s teenage son, Avery Johnson Jr. (pictured with Drake below), wasn’t as diplomatic.
Avery Jr. took to Twitter to blast the powers that be for his dad’s abrupt termination.
Big ups to Junior for standing up for his dad! Do you agree with the kid’s assessment though? Sound off below!
