This is sad news. Yesterday, A$ap Rocky announced that his father had passed away.
The Harlem rapper Instagrammed a picture of his dad, along with the message:
“R.I.P DAD , UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN . “SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN , HE BE DA REALIST G” TTTL”
Although not much is known concerning the details of his father’s death, A$ap Rocky has credited his father as having a huge influence on his rap style. Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has said that his father named him after the legendary hip hop veteran Rakim.
