Dwyane Wade’s on court rendition of the Holiday favorite, The Nutcracker has gotten him suspended!
Mr. Wade has been suspended for one game without pay for his kick to the groin of Ramon Sessions on Wednesday, the league has announced via official release. The league explains that the suspension was “for flailing his leg and making contact with the groin of” Sessions. That’s a nice way of putting it!
So what caused Wade to slam his knee into Sessions’ groin? It seems he was frustrated that the Charlotte Bobcats (who have lost the last 15 games) might pull away and beat the Heat! Miami eventually won, but it was just a four-point game when the “leg flailing” went down with 8:12 remaining in the fourth quarter. The frustration Wade might have felt given the score and situation may have also played into the way he was punished.
Wade will miss the Heat’s next game, which takes place against the Pistons in Detroit today [Friday]. No word on if Sessions has recovered enough to play in the next Bobcat game.
