Fans of Outkast will be excited to hear that Big Boi and Andre 3000 will be reuniting on a new version of Frank Ocean’s single, “Pink Matter.” Those who’ve heard the song know that Andre 3000 is already featured on it, but Big Boi revealed his contribution to the track via a photo on his tumblr page, along with the caption:
“Dropping a verse on this Frank Ocean “Pink Matter” #vladr.”
Ocean originally wanted both members of Outkast to appear on the track, but, according to Big Boi, that plan was scrapped by Andre 3000, who “didn’t want an Outkast Record Coming out on anybody else LP.”
Dre must have caved into the pressure, and we couldn’t be happier! Big Boi’s representatives have confirmed the new version of “Pink Matter,” along with ANOTHER upcoming Outkast collabo on T.I.’s single “Sorry.” According to Big Boi, “Sorry” will be released first. Although no specific date has been given, sources are saying the track will drop sometime next week. It will be the first time Outkast has collaborated together in almost 6 years.
Get excited! In the meantime, watch Big Boi perform “Apple Of My Eye,” from his new album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, on the Late Show with David Letterman:
